How Workers' Comp Benefits Are Calculated
Weekly Benefit = Average Weekly Wage × Compensation Rate
(subject to state minimum and maximum caps)
Compensation Rate: Most states use 2/3 (66.67%) of your average weekly wage. Michigan uses 80%. Texas uses 70%.
PPD Benefits: For permanent partial disability, the weekly benefit is further multiplied by the disability rating percentage assigned by a physician.
Waiting Period: Most states require a waiting period (3-7 days) before benefits begin. If your disability exceeds a retroactive threshold, the waiting period is reimbursed.

This calculator provides rough estimates only and should not be used as legal or financial advice. Workers' compensation laws vary significantly by state, and actual benefits depend on many factors not captured here.

Please consult with a licensed workers' compensation attorney or your state's workers' compensation board for accurate benefit calculations specific to your situation.
